We discussed the strengths and weaknesses of a learning website. We were not only discussing from one aspect, but also from other aspects, such as visual, content, brevity, consistency of the website, and so on. There were many learning websites that we have discussed. My group discussed www.chompchomp.com.
It is really interesting to know that students are not only able to learn from teachers, but also from another media like the learning websites. Moreover nowadays almost everyone has the internet access at their home, learning can be done in a click! Even it is very common if students do not sit in their class to study, because by sitting in front of the computer they are also learning. It becomes a benefit for both teachers and students.
However I was thinking, what if in the future students did not have to go to school anymore because of this technology? Would the students have an active learning through the learning website? What about the students with special needs? Will the learning websites be more effective for them?
In my opinion, though we have those learning websites in this era, teachers still need to provide activities in the class. Learning websites can be a tool for teachers in teaching, and also can be a guide for students to study better.

People around often ask me what is the meaning of my name. Moreover when people who asked me are Christian, they always get confused at first when they knew that my name is Elia. They would wonder whether Elia is a man or a woman if they have not met me before. I was confused also at first, but then I asked my parents.
Actually my mum wanted to have a son, so she prepared boy's name instead. However when my mum gave a birth, she got a female baby. So my mum tried to find a name from the Holy bible as quick as she could, then she found 'Elia' in the Old Testament.
Well, honestly 'Elia' is not a name for a woman; it is supposed to be a name for a man. I did not really understand the reason why my mum chose that name.
However, when grew up a little bit older back then, I tried to find out by reading the bible. Elia is one of the prophets in the Old Testament who is very faithful, patient, and he became a role model at that time. However, according to www.urbandictionary.com, Elia means one who is profoundly wonderful - and humble. Elia most often refers to a unique individual who possess many intriguing qualities such as : affectionate, loving, thoughtful, caring, devoted, enthusiastic, friendly, open minded, optimistic, sincere, trustworthy, loyal, outgoing, authentic. But the name Elia does not mean perfect..in fact it means far from perfect. The name Elia means someone who recognizes that there is more to life than here on this earth. The more I read it, the more I understand the reason why my mum gave that name for me. My mum wants me to be a tough woman, but with faith and patience in my heart. So, according to that I conclude that the symbol that represents me is durian.
Why?
The reason why I chose durian, because durian looks tough and hard outside, but actually it is delicate inside.
